79 Yr Old Threatened With Screwdriver Whilst Being Burgled

Norford Way in Rochdale, where the burglary took place on 17/08/15.

The Manchester Evening News  reported recently on an elderly man being threatened with a screw driver, whilst his home was burgled. A gang of male burglars were involved.

The 79 year old man was at home in Norford Way, Rochdale on Monday 17th August. At approximately 6:20pm, the three burglars broke into his property. One of the men then forcibly held the victim in his bedroom by threatening him with a screwdriver. The other two men, proceeded to search his home. All three criminals are described as white men.

“We are determined to catch the people responsible for this crime and we are investigating the possibility that the men may have made off from the address afterwards in a waiting car, possibly a dark coloured BMW.” stated Detective Constable Simon Massey from Rochdale Police Station.

“We are asking for anyone that saw any suspicious activity or vehicles in the area around this time, to please contact police.” Added DC Massey.
