Rochdale Online have recently  reported on a vehicle theft that took place on Tuesday 22nd September at 02:15 am. A black Subaru Forester STI Type M on a 51 registration plate, was taken by three men from a commercial car garage on Hill street.

Later the same day, at approximately 16:40 pm, an armed robbery was reported on Heaton Moor Road in Stockport, at a jewellers. Police officers that attended the call out, were informed that three men had stolen jewellery and money from the store. During the theft, the men were said to be brandishing both a circular saw and a sledge hammer. They were witnessed fleeing the scene in a black Subaru Forester. Police believe that the two crimes are linked.

At around 22:40 pm on 22nd September, the car that had previously been stolen from the Rochdale garage, was discovered on Brayside Road in Withington. The vehicle was found burnt out.

In both incidents, the car has been described as a black Subaru Forester with no registration plates and gold coloured alloys.

“Given the timeline and the fact that the descriptions of the cars involved in both incidents are very distinctive, we believe that it is the same one … The car would have most definitely stood out to any member of the public who saw it drive by as it had no registration plates and is a limited addition vehicle. If anybody thinks they may have seen it then please contact the police.” stated Detective Constable Matt Tarr.

If you have any information relating to either crime then please contact Stockport North Neighbourhood Police on 0161 856 5902. Alternatively, you can anonymously contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
