Love this hot weather
As much as we all love the sunshine, it can play havoc with doors.
I have had quite a few calls from customers in the Oldham and Saddleworth areas recently, claiming they couldn’t lock their doors.
Now we all know that timber swells and shrinks according to the weather but what some people don’t realise is that it can affect uPVC doors and even composite too!
Especially the darker coloured ones.
If you are having problems then heres a word of advice.
Open your door and try locking and unlocking it while it is in that position.
If you are able to do so without any problems, then that tells you that there is not a problem with the lock but in actual fact, the door may have swollen (or shrunk, in cold weather) and is not aligning with the keepers on the casing.
My advice is (if you have time) try the door later that day, preferably the evening and you might just find that the problem has resolved itself.
